Richard and Ann McGirle (McGarrell, Magarell), Thomas Beckett; James McMunigall were all immigrants to Scotland in the 19th Century. Any help in tracing them would be appreciated.

You could try the census records on the Scotlandspeople website. Unfortunately you will have to buy credits to use the site.

Civil registration in Ireland of births, death & Catholic marriages began 1864 (Protestant marriages 1845) so for earlier records you need to locate church records.
Have you tried looking on www.familysearch.org yet?
