Yes, of course, from jorose's answer above. I should have looked for them under directories...can do next time! From the info she found for you, sounds as though she was daughter in law.

Is this a shot in the dark?  J.J. do you have an interest in a family from Kent whose surname begins with a G?

Have just come across this post whilst looking for Styles relations.  The Marsh sisters married Frederick and Walter Styles who were younger brothers of my Great Grandfather Henry William James Styles.  Frederick was born in 1882 and Walter (who was known as Um!) in 1883.  Frederick and his wife went to live in Canada.  My mother, who died a few months ago, talked about them and gave me a lot of the Styles family history.  She said that Walter (Um) had 2 sons, Norman and Walter, that she knew of.  She also said that Frederick married a Marsh sister and went to Canada with a set of tools and £10 and gradually worked his way up to be managing director of a coal/lumber business.  She thought his wife died young in Winnipeg.  They had a daughter called Dorothy and a son who had 2 children. I have a photo of Frederick and his son and daughter and on the back Mum has written that Frederick and Dolly came to England to visit family in 1938.  There is another photo with Fred and Mum's grandfather during that visit. Also have a photo of Walter and his wife.

If you would like to get in touch I can send copies.

What a surprise! I didn't know that Walter and Frederick had another brother. I believe that Walter stayed in Sandwich, Kent area. He died in 1953 in the Thanet Reg area.

Edith, Fred's wife was only 40 when she died. I know that one of the cousins, a nephew of Edith and Ellen has kept in touch with Dolly.I do remember him telling me that she had visited, but don't know when that was.

It would be great to have a copy of the photos. I can't leave an e mail address on here, got to work out how to post  a message so I can give it to you. It's a long time since I've done one.

Did your gt grandfather live in the Sandwich area?

Maggie.
