Charlotte Elizabeth Lena (not Leah) Bestall was my paternal grandmother.  I would be most interested to know how your friend is related to the Bestalls as we may be able to swop information.

My friend is related to both Bestall and Caldwells. The Caldwell's on her mothers side. She hasn't got a computer. Could you send me a PM with your e mail address, so I can send you her address and yours could correspond by letter or I can be 'go-between' if yours want! Thanks for putting me in touch with your friend.  I now have photos of my grandmother's father and mother and her parents and brother.  Had never seen any photos before.  My father and your friend are actually second cousins.  Unbelievable!  So thrilling to see what they look like and match up the family resemblances.

Have you heard anything more from your Bestall contact?  It would be lovely to complete more of the jigsaw and make contact with him.
