Hello jwilco, Again, thanks for your most gracious assistance!  I have looked at the Google books entry which describes landed gentry, including Spoor of Whitburn.  That source indicates that Richard Spoor's ancestors actually came form Cornwall!  At this point, I can see no connection to my group who are first spotted in Whickham and Ryton in County Durham in the 1600's.  However, I will keep an open mind about any possible connection that may be found at another point in time!  Again, sincerest thanks for your help.   ;D  Pat

Hello KatyG, Thanks agin for the information; I regret that I do not have photos which would help you. I am wondering if you have any additional information about Richard Spoors grandparents and/or his wife and children. He is proving to be elusive to tie in to my Spoor tree, most of whom were from Whickham and Ryton in County Durham.  A fair number, however, did move over to the Eastrly part of the county; others went to Newcastle. Please keep me advised of your progress and I wish you success in your endeavor.  Sincerely, patrexjax
