Thanks for the info' Deb I do have a photo of the pub from way back, there's was a road to the right of the pub then, that may have been Cage Lane, now called Friary Place, Google maps show the road now as a car park.
I can't find Henry Harrison on my family tree, must be a different family, thanks anyway.

The pub is now closed and boarded up probably prior to demolition or sale

for a number of years it did not have a very good name

I pass it nearly every day on the way to work

I used to work opposite in the old Safeways store and walked past the pub many many times,
yes it was a little run down, used to have its regular customers thou..

Now moved across the road to Morrisons and don't have much call to go to the hight street anymore,
but hopefully the new Netto/Wilkinson will put paid to that soon...
