Hi Fenboy67

Have you seen the citation on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission site?  If it's the right man, he died 6 May 1941 but was on the HMS President III, Royal Navy, can't see a Frederick Hunt from MV Dunkwa

Hi Barbara,

That's fantastic, it is the right man and my mother has believed he was on m.v. dunkwa but as the records show he was on the President III.

Once again thank you so much.

             Chris.

Excellent, glad it's the right man   :)

Well, this is interesting, looks as if your mother was right, as his death is registered in the GRO War Deaths Naval Ratings Index as
HUNT Frederick A.B.   President III  1941 Vol 5  Page 1961 and below that it says     (S.S. Dunkwa)

 same ship then ??

Barbara  :)

Hi Barbara

I have found out that H.M.S. President lll is a land base at Windsor as my grandad was paid from there thats were he was registered to. The M.V. Dunkwa was the ship he was killed on, and as like many other merchant ships they were commissioned and fitted with guns for the war.

   Thanks again  Chris.
