Perhaps there is a moral in this story that persistence  and the will not to give does have its just rewards.  The Roots Chatters have something of which to be very proud and so many have rallied to the call.  An especial thank you to Lynne for "taking charge" of the difficult task of being responsible for the donations and all that it implied.

I am sure the rest of the cash can be raised and the project completed

Maybe the Echo has at long last realized that there is a news story  of a very different nature and will publish.

Robert, my dear Robert,
Wait for me please, we have now two rendez-vous, the first on your resting place... the second, in the middle of nowhere, for a warm handshake...

Michel

That was a wonderful message you wrote my Friend ! .... but I bet Robert is watching and has already shook your hand many times !!

Well done eveyone. Didn't get the PM mentioned earlier in the thread but I have been keeping up to date with the remarkable progress. If anyone is able to give me a brief resume of the story I will happily upload it on the website and it might be worth putting in our Parish Mag as well. Just a thought. If i can be of help please let me know.

Graham
I am so sorry but last time you signed in your user name was Vergergraham and it was to this one I posted to you but not to worry someone must have known we needed you to look at the thread anyway.

I am sure Annie can send that short synopsis for the magazine as she made a very good synopsis of the original research done earlier and is very good with wording and I feel would be the best person to do it.

Hi Graham

Thanks for popping in!

It will be great to see Robert's story on the Church website!

Will there be any Church fees for the work on Robert's gravestone because we haven't taken them into account?  Welsby's mentioned them.  We don't have them at All Saints Speke so I didn't think to ask!

Just a thought - maybe you could contact 'our' reporter at the Echo and tell him about your famous graves AND your roof fund appeal - it could all go in the same article.  I did tell him you had been very helpful in our project. If you want his email, let me know.

Hi all

Can I just ask - how many of you are Scousers, either living here or away?  I can't be the only one?

I would like to tell the Echo reporter.  I have mentioned you live in Scotland, Wales, England, France, Spain, US,Australia and I know I need to add Canada!

Anyone else?  Speak up now or forever hold your peas!  ;)

I can honestly say I belong to that great bunch of people called scousers and proud of it and only living in Southport which is still in the Merseyside area only a short train ride away and all of my family are still there including my own children and grandchildren so will be there with Michel on the day to meet up with you all when Michel arrives here to see the final outcome of the hard work of all rootschat contributers.
