Hi everyone

I'd like to volunteer to take donations if that's okay with everyone, but i would prefer not to handle any money!

I've had a look at my PayPal account online which is only the basic type but I can't see any reason why any donations couldn't be sent to that account by people with PayPal accounts.  That way I don't get to handle any money personally which I would prefer just my final cheque that goes to Welsbys (and Graham at St Peter's if necessary).  It doesn't look like others need to have a paypal account to pay into it, but there is a cost for me to receive payments via credit/debit card. (See below) A new PayPal account is free to set up.

If we put a time limit on payments coming in, (a month or so many weeks) then on that date I can let individuals see the account by private email and transfer it to my bank so I can send the cheques off.

What do you all think?  Can you see any reason why this wouldn't work?  If you think it's okay I will pm my account details to people who want to donate.

I know I'm only a relative newby to this thread so I'll understand if you all want to do it another way.

Lynne

The fees look like this:
PayPal accepts the following funded payments for free:
PayPal Balance
PayPal Instant Bank Transfer
PayPal eCheque

They accept credit or debit card funded payments at the given rates:

3.4% plus £0.20 GBP. No transaction limit for payments sent via Skype, otherwise there is a limit of 2 transactions per year

3.4% plus £0.20 GBP for card payments received using PayPal on Skype

PS  Here is the link to the PayPal website for more information!  If you need someone to vouch for me, the Reader at my Church also works at Graham's Church, St Peter's so Graham could ask John to vouch for me.

Lynne
This is excellent news and I do know that you will take care of my money when sent so if I go to my bank can I just give details of your paypal account when I get them and they will transfer my donation to your account is it that simple.

It looks like we will get to see the sunny side of Roberts memorial stone after all Michel will be pleased to hear it.

Thank you so much
