Hi EVERYONE nice to see things moving along at a quicker pace now .. Well done
Edna and the gang . Hi Michel too... ;)  Nice to see you back !!  Just a thought .. if the stone is able to be be put the right way up  would you consider donating the tags to the Church where he rests to be framed and exhibited with the tale of how they have been waiting to be reunited with their owner for all these years ...I'd be happy to do the displaywork and organise the framing of it with Michels instructions ... It  could become an interesting talking point at Grahams's Church  too  ;D Anyway ... happy to help any way I can ..

Hi Edna

Great reply from Graham!  Sounds like there's no problem getting the stone turned over as far as he is concerned.  And I can't see that the Treasurer would have any problems with the donations.

I haven't heard back from the local history wbsite which is a shame as I was hopeful they'd help.  I'll get in touch with Welsbys when everything is ready!  (Count me in the donations!)

How exciting is all this?!  I'll have to try and visit Robert and have a look at the stone when it's fixed!

I have been following this thread and would also like to donate towards the lifting of the stone. It is a pity that the price was not lower for the stone to be stood up. Is it not possible to try any other stone masons? Can't we get four men to lift the stone, I know my hubby would help. If the stone was turned for free, it would be a bonus towards having it stood up. Just a thought. I live not far from the church and I am sure I can get the manpower to lift it. Lynn
I am researching the following names.....Owen/s-Holyhead, Rimmer/Lewis-West Derby, Wood/s/Hayter-Toxteth
