Hello Mair and fellow chatters

I have just had a long telephone conversation with a family member who has a family member in the Echo who is a good contact and have related the story to him and have promised to send Annies synopsis on to him tonight by e mail and he has promised to try to get his contact involved in the story and guess what

He lives in the Woolton area and said that The Woolton Commission is a community of people who do good for the people of Woolton and it would be a good idea to get them involved as Robert is in their churchyard.

He will get back to me
Edna

Hello again friends
I am sorry to say that my family Echo contact has gone away on holiday for a week without getting back to me so I have no idea if a contact was made or not so Mair if you could try again then please do and good luck with the Echo I hope you get a result this time.

Also good luck with contacting Graham I hope he will do it for us.

Edna

Yes friends
crossed wires, I thought Mair was wanting to make contact with Graham while I was waiting for the OK from the contributors of the thread for me to contact Graham    ( someone has pointed it out to me that Mair was quoting my message )  and yes I shall do it tomorrow if Mair (can you be so kind) contact the Echo again.

Hope this is OK with everyone

I have written to Graham and show you a copy of my mail

Hello again Graham

I know you will remember the Rootschat website where we located Robert W Stead s Grave in Your Churchyard.

We have started a new thread and have decided to have Roberts Gravestone turned over and we have asked Miss M rootschat member to price the turning of the stone
"quote
Here's the quote from Welsbys for turning the stone over plus a further quote for actually getting it fixed so it stands upright.

"This is a four man lift and would cost £94.00 incl of VAT to turn it over. However a refix on safety anchor would cost £587.50"

We need to know Graham if we have the churches permission to go ahead and have it done

We would also like it if we could ask you to accept the donations from the Rootschat members as we all remain anonymous to each other so if we could send a donation to you to pay the Stonemason from it then perhaps anything over could go towards the church repairs fund.

I wrote to the Legion and to the War Graves Commission and it has taken this long to get the reply that they would not do it as it is outside of the remit of a War grave.

I have offered Michel and his wife Sabine accomodation in my home in Southport for Michel to visit the gravesite if it is turned over.

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,271385.0.html

You may send me a message or you can reply on the thread if you wish but please let us know if it can be done  and if so then if you will do us the honour of accepting the donations.

Well this is a prompt reply from Graham and it looks as though it can go ahead once his next reply comes

Edna

Hello Edna,

What a determined group of people you are!

As previosly mentioned I will help in anyway possible.Whilst your suggestion to send contributions to the church for Robert's headstone is fine I will certainly have to run this idea past the church treasurer. I only get the oppurtunity to see him Sundays so there may be a delay in responding.

Can you leave it with me and I will get back to you?

Best wishes,
Graham
