How about a Robert Stead Memorial thread, where the pictures could be placed, and later we could all add photos of our own military relations..................
It would be a nice tribute to the bravery of these people.

I met the stonemason in the churchyard today and they were returning the plinth. It has been polished and looks like a new stone. Beacause the church has two funerals in church on Friday they are now hoping to replace the headstone tomorrow. I will report back if there are any further developments.

Should you have the oppurtunity to visit St Ps please introduce yourselves. I am around this week till Sunday then I have a few days off.

Oh  Wow ... I  wish I could be there but I have got prior commitments this weekend that  just  cannot change.  :'( :'(  I  dohope that one day we can have a proper planned meeting of the rootschats members with  Annie and Michel able to attend .... maybe next year. It is after all a huge and not inexpensive task for them to travel the hundreds and even thousands of miles .  It may be possible this year or next year even ...but one thing is for sure ...and that is that I will be there for that . ..  well done everyone for seeing this wonderful story through to  such a heartwarming end ...  You are all stars! :-*

Hi everyone,

Just to let you know I am meeting Edna on Friday afternoon to go to St Peter's as planned and we should be there around 2.30 so if anyone wants to meet up with us, for identification purposes we'll be wearing walking a little black dog!   ;D

SCRIMNET:  I don't know what to suggest for you and the lads as there will only be 2 of us (and the little black dog...) and later in the day, tisgrannie.  Maybe the weekend is a better time for others who want to go so I'll leave it up to the group when they want to go.  I would love for your act of remembrance to still happen though.
