Didn't Graham Paisley post a message about the logistics of placing something inside the church?   Church formalities/procedures if my memory is right.

Hi Scrimnet

This is a quote from Annie, reply 32 page 3

... I think it would look lovely framed .... with a French inscription and hung next to the WW1 Roll of Honour at St Peters !!

Annie  :)

Susan  :)

Some kind soul sent me a potted history of the thread...and that wasn't in it...My mistake...her fault :P :P :P :P

I refer you to my previous answer... ;)

I admit I came late to this thread, and have missed most of the comments so forgive me if I am repeating stuff...

You're forgiven Scrimnet  ;) ;) ;)...it is a very very long thread   :o :o I think between us we have wandered down so many tracks and cul de sacs it's hardly surprising that some information gets " lost "in the maze  eventually ... Your idea of  a Guard of Honour  so to speak was something none of us I believe even dreamed of ... It's a wonderful idea and I'm sure everyone is excited and grateful that we have a Rootschatter onboard who can make that happen . The Variety of expertise on this Forum is what has made this journey possible...  So on we go ... another chapter in this great adventure ...  ;) :)

Cher Michel

Merci de vos mots aimables. Je suis un soldat avec l'armée britannique et je suis également un historien. Il sera mon plaisir d'aider en cela autant que je peux.

J'espère vous rencontrer au service...

I really sruggle to keep pace with this thread and I hope it is OK to "borrow" the description on the last post to update the St Peters website and keep people in touch in Woolton and further a field. When eventually you all do get together at St Peter's it would probably be good to have refreshments in the church hall which probably would have been a building Robert would be familiar with over 80 years ago. The website link is
http://www.stpeters-woolton.org.uk/index.php
If there is any problem let me know and I can remove or amend it.

Good evening Graham,

it is lovely to see Robert's story on the website of St Peters, thank you very much... please save some refreshments for when I come to Woolton...

Very friendly

Michel
