To "The Collective"!!

May I say just one thing.

YYYYYYYYAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOO! (sorry Google :-[)

At last it is "tres bon tout le mond" "C'est magnifique" and coming from someone who was an unclassified at the old French 'O' level guys that spulling ain't too terrible.  (notice the use of bi lingualism there)

Absolutely ^&%$**y fantastic - i confess I had doubts whether we would have boodle sufficient to carry out our canny plan but if we can get that memorial vertical and facing the sun once more, how inspirational and educational could this be to our youngers to encourage them never ever to let atrocities of WW1 andWWII ever happen again.

Well done with bells on every single one of us!

Well you have done a marvellous job all of you. Yes all! If you think you didn't do anything, please think again. Its the spirit of you all that has kept this project going.
The fact you all feel emotionally involved in such a heart warming story . This to make sure one man who fought for each and every one of us be remembered and honoured in such a way. He was one of thousands but he represents them all. because through Robert Stead we are all making sure none of the men are ever forgotten.
I am sure Robert stands smiling with his many comrades knowing that you all cared so much and enough to see this act come to fruition. He will be very proud of you all I am sure.
Lets hope as many as possible of you can come to St Peters Churchyard in Woolton. To commemorate the raising of the headstone. We can hopefully plan a tea and cake "do" in the Church hall.
It will be an honour to meet you all fellow rooters!
God bless you all for all you do! It shows the world, is, a wonderful place.

I have been keeping tabs on this thread from the beginning and with this marvellous news just had to pop on and say ''congratualtions'' to Annie, Michel and everone else involved in this milestone.  I have laughed and cried along with you and cannot wait to see the story in the Echo.

God bless you all

Hi everyone

I've finally managed to get back to my computer and find some smileys I think are appropriate for how we're feeling!

Glad you are so happy with the news!  I wanted Michel to tell you but we had problems with the translations!  Nevertheless his joy is obvious and I know Annie feels the same!

Let's see if I can get these smileys to work....

Sorry for my "poor" english Lynne !

But YES, my joy is great !!! ;D ;D ;D

Oh no Michel! Please do not apologise! - my French is confined to what I learned in school 30 years ago!  You 'speak' better English than I do French!

A famous comedian here, Eddie Izzard believes that when the English go over to France we desperately look for the opportunity to use the words we learned in school - 'le singe est dans l'arbre...'  I hope my spelling is right!  His sketch on it is hilarious!

I probably didn't express myself properly for the translator.  There are people in the UK who need a translator to understand the Liverpool accent when we're talking!

I'm happy that you are happy!  ;D

Lynne

Oh aucun Michel !

Lynne
