Hi all, I haven't been watching this thread closely for a while, but I see that things have been moving along rather well.

I have been wondering what to do with the passworded website that I set up on Tribal Pages to hold the Gedcom data. It would be good to make it public.

The problem we had with it was that some of the data we had collected concerned living or recently deceased people and it would be insensitive to publish it. The solution to that would be to hide the data that gives rise to the concern. Easily done with the living, but I don't really want to be marking the recently deceased as "living".

Could I ask those with access to the website to take a look at it and give me their thoughts (by PM)  on what needs to be changed/deleted to make it suitable for open publication.

It's funny you should say that Shaun ...'cos I was only looking at it last night and thinking .... what a good site it is  :D .... what a pity it would be for it to go unnoticed !!

As I am a techno duck ....... I really have no idea of the best thing to do .... but I believe the right thing to do is keep it !! and I think you are the best person to decide .... but I will PM you with my thoughts .... I'd like to say again how much I appreciated yours and Reivers hard work with that ... we really gave you a "Doozie " didn't we ??!!  :D :D

Thank you again !

And while I'm here ..... I have to say that in the beginning when we knew nothing ...... there were so many people who went over and beyond to help Michel ....

Very notably Mary A who ran all over town finding addresses for us - taking pictures - as well as finding all kinds of great information .... Anna who braved a terrible gale to go and get us the will .... Shaun of course who was a brick throughout .... and stayed the course when things got bleak .... Reiver who spent hours and hours typing and looking ! .... Freddiebean who gave us our first breakthrough .... Tazzie who kept us all going .... Ambly who was a tower of strength ... Wendi with so much moral and emotional support .... and all our Cheerleaders - Tisgrannie and everybody - who kept popping in to motivate us ....... !! and our Friend Andrew of course and all the people on the Forum who were so instrumental !

It was one heck of a ride and I'm thrilled at the outcome .... but now it's time for the people who are actually there in and around Liverpool to carry the baton ..... thank you for everything !! .... I'll be waiting with bated breath to see and hear about all the happenings connected with "Our Robert " .... he was some man wasn't he ? to have affected us all this way !

Thank you Michel for the honour of entrusting him to me in the beginning  .... I'm so glad I "met " him !!

I'm a Canadian living in the US...but I'm married to a Yorkshireman so may I say I'm almost, very close, to being nearly a Scouser.

Maybe ;D ;D ;D
