GERMANY: George BECKER aka BAKER German Birth

Please advise how I might find the German birth record of my great grandfather George BECKER (later in Derby England George BAKER). I have hit a brickwall. Here is the background and what I have done so far:
In the 1850's my great grandfather George BAKER migrated from his native Germany to England. He was a Musician and Accordion Maker. It is believed he was
married to his wife Catherine prior to leaving Germany. His name there is
thought to have been BECKER although at a later date he gave the name of his father as Phillip BAKER.
The 1861 English Census finds George BAKER aged 25 and
Catherine aged 24 lodging with Henry and Alice WEHMEIER in Goddard Yard
LEICESTER. The WEIMEIER's were also musicians born in Germany.
By the time of the 1871 English Census, the BAKERs had moved to 7 Goodwin Street
DERBY a property previously occupied by Accordion Maker Augustus DORN born Germany and his family. By that time the BAKERs had children Mary (7 years) and Caroline (1 month). Sons Henry and Walter had died at child birth in 1865 and 1867 respectively.
By 1878 Kelly's Directory for Derby England, George BAKER was listed as a Lodging House Keeper at 8 and 9 Bag Lane DERBY. Further, the 1881 Census for 8 Bag Lane calls George an Accordion Maker.
In 1884 George's wife died. He would marry again in 1891, to Julia COOPER in Derby, when he would give the name of his father as Phillip BAKER (as mentioned above, spelt that way) a General Labourer. 
By 1895 Bag Lane had become known as East Street (and still is). The
directory at that time calls George a Musical Instrument Dealer. George's
daughter Elizabeth BAKER born 1871 married Thomas HARLOW in 1890 (my grandparents).
Visits to the National Archive in Kew England have failed to find naturalisation papers or ship disembarkation records for George.
There is a puzzle relative to the name of George's first wife, on a couple of times she has been referred to as Carolina rather than Catherine. However Georg had a daughter baptised Carolina and there followed a tradition of using Carolina in my family.
There are too many birth entries on IGI for me to be certain about George's birth record.
Obviously I am very keen to establish his birth place. Everything I have found merely states Germany.
Any advice relative to my next actions would be very much appreciated.

i wonder if our beckers are from the same place in germany,i am searching the origin of my greatgrandmother wilhelmina becker , born 1864 her father is fritz and i think they come from bremen syke
wilhelmina was married in reading.
not sure when they came to england so  it is very difficult to know where to start looking
maybe no connection at all. but thought i would share this with you

My George had settled in England before the birth of your Wilhelmina. So a link is unlikely.
However if I turn anything up I shall let you know.

thank you ,i have written  to several  different archives in germany and so far no return  of anything
i never give up i will try anything to find the origin of wilhelminas family
i dont read or even speak german.
  if i could i could post info on german sites.

You can put in a question about your Georg Becker as an accordion maker from Germany in a forum- page of the Musikinstrumentenmuseum Markneukirchen in The Vogtland in Saxonia in Germany.
This museum is a verry importent center for the music-instruments manufactoring, also for accordions in germany.

I think, you can ask at first only for the name Georg Becker and for the names of other members of your musical instruments makers family.

Maybe, the leader  of the museum (a woman, Mrs.Heidrun Eichler) knows the name Becker as an instrument manufacter.
