My Shawcross and Yearsley familys used this church. The Shawcross family also used a church St Andrews, Ancoats, near Ardwick. Does anyone know what happened to this church? Regards Mike ;)

I have a few ancestors married in m/c cathedral.John Crossley&Jane Smith 1813.  Luke Crossley& Mary Booth 1832. Blakey Townend&Eliza Whittle 1846. :)
Knowles born Oldham . Price, Chester&Oldham.          Tomlinson, Blackley,Harpurhey&Moston.   Crossley from Failsworth.

I have a copy of the marriage certificate of my gt grandparents Hezekiah Eccles and Elizabeth Pickford which says 'Marriage Solemnized at the Cathedral and Parish Church in the Parish of Manchester County of Lancaster" on 8th October 1849.

I've found two marriages - one couple in 1836 the other in 1848. I've looked both up on the registers (red1 - Manchester Central Library has microfilm copies) & seen the vast numbers of marriages - often 15-20 in one day.

Great photos, both of them.  One day I hope to see them in the flesh - so to speak.  Lots of my Mum's families, the BUTTERWORTHS and BOOTHS,  celebrated significant events in this Cathedral.  If she were still alive Mum would be getting me to print out both photos for her files.  But I guess I'll have to print them out for mine instead.
