Did Your Ancestors Use Manchester Cathedral?

I like the first print of Manchester Catheral, There are two pubs at the back of the church like the buildings in the first picture 1800 orginal buildings, If you ever get chance to come to Manchester it is worth a look at the orginal buildings.. Sinclairs Oyster Bar and the Wellington pub.  These pubs had to be moved after the IRA blew up part of Manchester in 1974 ish, luckily they survived 2 blasts and have been rebuilt brick by brick, your ancestors could very well gone and had oysters in Sinclairs after attending church!

Photos is certainly lovely.  I also have family married there on my gg grandmothers side.  She was a Moses and i know parts of her family married int he 1800...would have to look up again to find out when.  Also i think the surnames are Lea and Barnett.  Most of these families came from Cheshire mainly Haslington.

I obtained a marraige cert last Monday 12/03/07 from the Cathedral for myGt.Gt.Gt Grandmother 1835. I just went in and saw the Vicar? and asked him  ok.

Yes, my maternal g.grandparents married there on 13 February 1871.

Great Idea, posting the Pics & etc for Manchester Cathedral!

I have Ancestors Married & Christened There:

Carl HERTZBERGER (Bn Prussea C1817) Married Dorothea Brown (Bn Germany C1816) on 3rd July 1851.

Also Dorotheas Bro & Sister in Law: Peter BRAUN & Elizabeth STUDT Married there on 30th January 1849, and their Daughter Elizabeth was Christened there 30th December 1849!

Carl & Dorothea had 4 Children in Manchester, I hav'nt found their Christenings (Yet!), but I dare say they are in the Catherdral Records (somewhere).

I love the print and the photo Mobo ........ nice to see where ones forebears were wed whilst one is so far away in the colonies.
My William Hirst BROWN of Horbury Yorks married Catherine COMBOY of Ireland there in 1851.
