Hi All

I grew up just down the road from Fochriw in a little village called Deri about 2 and 1/2 miles. in between these two villages was a small Village called Penybanc or early records it was called  Brithdir- (Not Brithdir near Bargoed). Three cottages at Penybank called Stoney Houses was used as a fever hospital - The hospital remained in use for 25 years until the end of 1913. The village is no longer there or any houses. Hope this helps

Best wishes
