I t used to be that the River Rhymney separated Glam and Mon. I don't know what the situation is now, especially with councils amalgamating into "supersize" organisations.  My rellies are also from Rhymney and Pontlottyn.

hello there

What a small world your rele's coming from Rhymney and Pontlottyn.  I see that you are also seeking information on the Watkins family.  Now somewhere attached to our family are the Watkins, though not quite sure where but I do know who.

Cheers
Avril ;)

Hello again OZ lady and Jaz

Is Aberbargoed Isolation Hospital still there? Like I have said I have sent a letter to Fochriw Clinic(hospital) but if the Aberbargoed one is still there then I can send them one.  Hope all this makes sense.

Thanks again

Avril :D

Hi Avril,

no it is long gone,  they do have an Hospital in the Town of Aberbargoed mainly for the elderly and respite care now, You could try Ystrad Fawr Registry Office tel.= 01443-863478 they might know where the records are kept,
Jaz

It is many years since this was originally posted by if you click on this link http://fochriwhistory.co.uk/page549.htm all will be revealed since the hospital at Fochriw was located at the hamlet of Penybanc.

well, well
another Avril with a connection to Fochriw- my Dad was born there in 1920.
He was the son of William John Charles CURTIS & Elizabeth Mary WATKINS.
Any connection? I am always wondering where my name came from.
Dad was sent to register me as Cheryl and when he came back I was Avril!

Guess I'll never know.
