Good evening,
I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to lookup up the following marriage in the parish records for the above church, which I now believe is St.Joseph's Cathedral?
Joseph Bennett and Johanna Bedley (Could be
Begley though...)
23 January 1886, St, Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, SwanseaBoth Joseph and Johanna were residing at Oak Terrace, Llangyfelach Road at the time, and their respective father's are stated as being
Robert Bennett and
Nicholas Bedley, both
Mariners. However, I suspect that 'Nicholas' is incorrect...
I already have the GRO certificate for this marriage, but am looking to see if Johanna's surname differs from the
'Bedley' as stated on the GRO certificate, as there's a Begly family in the same road/area on the 1881 Wales census which I'm almost certain is Johanna's family. There's a young Johanna, born abt 1869, however, the father is
Michael Begly.
Furthermore, the witnesses are
Mary Begly and
William Donoghue, who married a few years later in Swansea. She would therefore appear to be Johanna's younger sister.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Paul
