Toni--  I am also related to the Beeney family from Ashburnham and noticed your signature about the SMA.  I live in the U.S.  My line is Samuel Beeney-James-Frederick-Charles-etc.  My sister died from Werdnig-Hoffman disease, a type of SMA.  I was just wondering if someone in your Beeney line had it.  Maybe the gene comes from that line? if so, I'm very sorry to hear it.

Good evening,

That is definately Rosina Tedham on the right of the photo, she is my 3xggrandmother. Married to John Tedham and they had 10 children. The eldest was Mary Ann not Maria, she married Thomas Bennett, possibly why she can't be found on the census, I have the 2nd as Carrolina but that is her on the left. Robert was the 5th and Rosina is shown on the 1871 as living with him at Dog house, he is a batchelor and gardener. On the previous 2 he is shown as a collector of chickens. The spelling of names seems to be very haphazard over the different census' especialy Rosina's name. All my family on my mothers side have come from the area of Hurstmoncuex, Bodle st, Warbleton, Bexhill etc etc. My mother was born in Buckwell cottage so may be a connection with Ann Buckwell's family.

Hi, Rosina's maiden name was RUSSELL. She was the daughter of John Russell and Mary Young, married at Frant 1779. John was born 1757, the son of William Russell (bn 1736) and Sarah Hover, married Ticehurst 1757. John's brother William (bn 1759) was my ggggg grandfather :-). The family is pretty well recorded in Burwash history. Regards, David Taylor

Just out of interest I thought I would put this old photo in the thread. This is a photo of the Dog House, Rushlake Green, it used to stand in front of Dog Cottage which is the house that is still there. This one got demolished due to it being not fit for purpose and my Nan was moved with the family to Back Lane, Rushlake Green.
