Meg, I've been digging into marriage customs, and apparently weddings tended to have a new thing in the 1890s, a maid of honour and a small number of bridesmaids, rather than a huge raft of bridesmaids as during the 1880s. So...there you have it

For some unknown reason I've just latched onto this thread
What a fabulous image
And the colourings are fantastic,  some of the best I've seen on this site
Well done all concerned
