Great colouring Lones, tempted myself but have a second cousin popping in today.

I would go as far to say that the one with glasses and the one next to her are twins.   Have you found twins in this particular line?

I think the one of the left is a little younger than the other, but I could be wrong, I mostly am....

I wondered if the lady at the very back is blind?  She may just not be looking, but I get the impression she may not be able to see where she should be looking, do you have any ancestors with sight problems?  Just an idea

Have to agree...they do look like sisters...the mouths all look exactly the same.

Hadn't noticed "Cordelia's" unfocused look...she might be blind or near to it...and considering the state of health care during Victorian times she might be mourning someone. But if not related to the deceased, she wouldn't be wearing black.

Bella is short for Isabella, which was an extremely popular name during that time period, particularly in Scotland

Isabella I can handle is is a lovely name, it is just Bella that I have issues with and I still have no idea why.  But Bella it shall be, just for the record....

If one sister has glasses, one should have by the eye strain going on then perhaps poor eyes were a family trait, or maybe as Little Meg says, she's just desperately unhappy...

We will probably never know

Yes I can see Cordelia's vacant look now...they all look very sad to me, but weren't they always told not to smile in those days when they were having their photographic portraits done?

It was the day of their sisters wedding, all the fussing and drama was over with and the girls were gathered to the local photographers for their photos.
Cordelia was not in the mood for celebration, how could she, the man she loved was marrying her sister.  She would be there to support her, but how, how could she even think to be happy for Eliza.  It should have been her, she thought, It should have been her.
