Hi Alan,
That depends what exactly you are looking for.
There is a list of resources for Australia at the top of this board and it may be worh your while to look through and have try with them to see if you find anything more.
In Australia, bdm's cut off at a certain point in each state so that the privacy of living individuals is protected.  These year dates wil be explained in the resource list.
All here will be glad to help if we can
As Trish says above Whitpages may be a help to you for current day SCARPELLA's

I would start with the links from this thread. You can buy certificates at the link given on one of my posts - you can also use this link to check the Victorian BDMs - but there is a fee, the information on the thread comes from CDs and probably covers what is available.

Victorian death certificates provide details of parents, spouses, children and burial - plus the usual reason for death & informant - so they can help find the next generation. As Sue says, later information on births and marriages are not available unless you are the person being born/married or their direct descendant.

The whitepages would be a starting point for finding the next generation

Hello  there

from  the  Electorall Rolls I  can  tell  you
that  in 1931 Bernard and Eliza Ann Scarpello  were  living at 19 Lee Street Carlton,  he was  listed as a labourer and she as Home duties.

In 1936 Eliza Ann Scarpello  is  still at  the same address but listed  is William Scarpello  as a  Boot operator  and  James bernard Scarpella  as a labourer.

I  also  noted  from  1924  through to 1936
a  William Victor Scarpello  and  Ellen Emma Scarpello (not at the same address)  any  relationship?

regards Jenn

Hi
I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd see if anyone still looked at it. If Bernardo came to Nottingham from Italy, his brother was Giovanni and he was my great great grandfather. It maybe that Bernardo is the son of Bernardo if one of them died in Nottingham as per a post later in this thread.

I have loads more about my side if you are interested!

Ben

My grandmother was Ada Scarpello who was married to Herbert George Hing Yee.
They had 2 children Phillip (my father) and Jennifer.
There are still quite a few Scarpello's here in Melbourne but they had changed their name to Scarpella.

I have a very detailed Scarpello family tree dating back to Nottingham and as far back as Alfonso Scarpello from Italy if anyone is still interested. There is also a branch of Scarpello's now living in Florida.

Hi Alan,

My great grandmother was Eliza Ann Weatherbed, I don't know how closely that is related to you?

I have a detailed Scarpello family tree that was sent to my grandmother Ada from Nottingham when one of her uncles died. I spent some time researching that side about 10 years ago but it seems there is far more information available now. I really wanted to find where the Scarpello family came from in Italy?

You may be interested in a copy of this tree, I also have some photos of Eliza and Bernardo.

Is there away I can email you directly?

Uschi
