Mcbeth (again!) Carpet Weaver
« on: Wednesday 14 November 07 13:15 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
Iam also having trouble tracking down Alexander's brother, James McBeth (McBeath) born 1848 in Glasgow to Hector McBeath and Janet Steel.
He was in the St Giles area of Durham with the family in 1861, by 1871 he was living as a lodger in Liversedge, Yorks and woirking as a carpet weaver.
He married a Jane in Durham in 1875 and was living and working as a weaver in Kidderminster in 1891.
His children were:
Isabel 1878
Mary 1880
William 1882
Janet 1884
James 1886

There is now trace of the family on the 1881 or 1901 census, can anybody find them?

Thanks again,

Sue

I appear to be a descendant of one of the sons. I would like to add my bit and make contact to add to this research ( if it still ongoing?)  I have original documents going back 3 generations.
