I've no idea what happened to the rest of the family, as I'm descended from a daughter of Thomas Ogilvie aforementioned. All I know is that the further back you get with this line, the increased likelihood that they were somebodies. The Ogilvies had estates all over North East Banffshire and elsewhere too.

I realize this is an old posting - I am a direct descendant of William Ogilvie born 1 Sept 1749 in Glengerrack and Isabel Anderson born 16 Sept 1763 to William Anderson and Elspet Rainie (maybe Rennie). He was the son of George Ogilvie of Glengerrack (17 April 1721) and grandson of George Ogilvie born 7 Jun 1693, and the greatgrandson of George Ogilvie born in Glengerrack about 1670 who was married to Isabel Mellis, Keith. Let me know.
