Munro/Dingwall
« on: Monday 12 November 07 13:48 GMT (UK) »
???Donald Munro married Ann Dingwall (DOB 19/12/1828) at Creich, Sutherland on 27 Jan 1851.  They had two children that I am aware of, there could be more.  I have not been able find anything about Donald, DOB, DOD, etc.  I would also like to find the DOD for Ann.
If anyone is researching this line would they please contact me.  I have information about the Dingwall line that I'd be pleased to share.

Hi Jack,

I doubt that it is the same line, but I have an Alexander Dingwall and, presumably, his sister, Isabella who were said to be from Clyne, Sutherland, and were born in the 1770's. They relocated to  Durness parish and Isabella is my 5xGreat Grandmother.

Hi Jack,

I'm not researching this line but here is some information for you;

1861 Residence: 2 Clashinglan, Creich, Sutherland
Donald Munro, m, head, 35, farmer of 6 acres & ag lab, Creich, Sutherland
Ann ", f, wife, 34, -, Creich, Sutherland
George ", m, son, 8, scholar, Creich, Sutherland
Hugh ", m, son, 3, -, Creich, Sutherland

Given Ann's father was George (if I have found the correct birth!), it's likely that Donald's dad was Hugh. There's a very likely birth then in Creich (6th April 1824 and christened 11th April 1824) to Hugh Munro and Margaret Fraser. They were married on the 9th February 1821 also in Creich.

Many thanks to IanB and hume24 for their replies to my question.
Ian, I find no connection with your Alexander Dingwall nor with his sister Isabella.
hume24-your information looks like what I've been looking for.  Ann's father was Thomas Dingwall and her mother was Ellen Ross of Kiltearn.  I had information on their children Ann and Hugh but did not have anything on George. :)

Good day.

I am just starting to research my family and my grandmother was Ina Jane (Dingwall) - GoodFellow - daughter of Johanna Dingwall daughter of Finlay Dingwall and Johanna McDonald.  My Nan had a sister named Lil and I believe that this was Johanna Dingwalls daughters from her second marriage to goodfellow.  Her first marriage produced two children (I believe - not sure with the copy of the family tree I was given) maybe these two were Nell and Anna and Anna married someone last named Brown - one son (my god father) Charles Brown.  I can get dob's and dod (if you would like I'll ask my mom)

Any info you could send me would be great.

Smiling in Toronto - Thanks
