Thought I'd provide an update on my search for John Davis, Flintsman, on a wedding certificate for 1845. I'd spent ages trying to find any possible info on Flintsmen, and thought it might be worth querying with Carmarthen Registrars if there could be a mistake, as this was a written copy not a copy of original cert. Thanks to a very helpful lady, lo and behold John is a Huntsman!
Something to get my teeth into at last, and could well tie up nicely with John being an ex-East India Company employee as suggested by Osprey.
