Hi Kopperknob
I have some info for you on Georgina Lee and Wellington Draper. (Drapers are my special interest!) Expect you've seen the marriage entry for these two in Eversley where her father's name is given as Charles Lee, tinker. (If not, let me know and I'll send the full details.)
She and Wellington had a son Job baptised at Barkham, Berks, on 14 Aug 1859 where they are described as 'Gypsies harvesting at Barkham'. But sadly Georgina was admitted to the County Lunatic Asylum at Fareham only two weeks later. She was there till 13 June 1861 and then transferred to the Oxford Asylum at Littlemore. I've seen her case notes at the Hampshire Record Office but haven't been able to follow her up in the Oxford records yet. Strangely, I've also been unable to find a death certificate for her so far.
So I think this means that the Elizabeth with Wellington Draper in the 1871 census is a different partner. If Georgina is still alive, then obviously Wellington couldn't have officially married Elizabeth because he'd have to commit bigamy to do so. The two Rawlins boys also in the household are, I believe, sons of Elizabeth's by a previous marriage to a Rawlins (they're called Sons in Law in the census record - at the time this was the term used for 'stepson'.)
Which brings us to Eliza Lee (described at Niece of Wellington) and the baby Stephen who I assume is hers?
Could she be the Eliza Ann bp 21 Sept 1851 at Barkham, Berks, dau of Henry Lee and Elizabeth - Henry being the son of Charles Lee and therefore brother to Georgina? This info comes from the new book on the south country Lees (Hants, Kent, Sussex etc) published recently by the Romany & Traveller Family History Society. There's no William son of Charles in the tree in the book - so perhaps 'Henry' was also known as 'William' or vice versa?
Hope this helps!
Sharon
