I can't believe how big this family was.

I thought travellers had their regular route they travelled each year.  Debs family started in the east of England, moved westwards and kept going.... to the USA!

Family is huge if you think trhat most had like 10 + children we spread out everywhere like my own family BUCKLAND & STANLEY
And yes many gypsy families went to USA if you want more interesting reading check out the NEW YORK TIMES ARCHIVES loads of stories about gypsies in USA
I did last night find a site gave me list of Fairs in cornwall I will try and find it will give you idea of places they travelled too but of course in winter months they moved up country so it possible to find them in aother counties

Debs sorry to correct you but there were many families went to USA
 I know I saw something about Penfold family in USA very early will try and find it for you it was story about young girl who died in her parents arms

 Its about a patience Penfold young child died 1895 14th Sept Old West Farms Churchyard
 says the Grandmother was Elizabeth Smith one of her nieces was head of the Willias tribe

Ok that would be great I know there are many orchards & penfolds living cloes to me as i am in Cornwall if i can link you to them will do and if anyone has a ancestor in Cornwall  that they would like a photo of their grave I will try and help out I want to start my own web site next year listing graves in Cornwall for people like yourselves abroad it would be a great help to know where your ancestors are buried
