Hi David

I thought maybe he had been married before ...see below...

1851:
Ferring, Sussex

Amos Thompson 45 Hawker , b NK
Priscilla "       43, b NK
Priscilla  "   16 , b NK
Henry    "  15  , hawker, b NK
Fred      " 12 , Hawker, b NK
William  "  11, Hawker , b NK
James,   " 10 , Hawker , b NK
Thomas  " , 7 , b, NK
Harriett " 4, b NK
Patience " 2 b NK

written under this is:
The above family were shoping (sic) in the parish the morning of the 31st.

HO107/1651 fol 329 p 13

Is this Thompson family related? Difficult to read :-\

1841
HO107/389/4 Folio 26 Page 25
..........Land/Lane? Gipseys, Fareham, Hampshire

Emos Thompson (transcribed Emma) 30 Hawker N
Mary 30 N
Wm 6m Y
E........a 9 Y (female)
Pricilla 6 Y
Fredrick 2 Y
Harry 4 Y

did Amos marry twice ?

deb

it looks like he married Mary 1st  and then to  Precilla Page. So all kids born after 1851 have Priscilla as mum ... or am I confusing things ?

Hi

My posts from yesterday have also disappeared and so have tiggi's ... I can't remember what I had typed  :-\

Good idea Toni ... I also think that maybe all of these threads should be moved to the travellers boards ...so we all stay in one place ... what do you think?

trying to recap yesterday's post re: what Tiggi had posted ...

Henry Penfold Married Ocean Hughes
Thomas Penfold married Sophia Orchard (b 1846)
Thomas and Henry were brothers and sons of John Penfold (1809) and Harriet James (1814).
Sophia Orchard , born c 1846 to William and Caroline Orchard nee Scarrott (married 1843).

errr ..I hope Tiggi can remember her posts ....LOL
