help with 1st battalion monmouthsire reg.

Can anyone help I am trying to help kick start my cousin John's research in to his grandfather rifleman Thomas Morris of the 1st Battalion Monmouthshire Regement. His original service number was 3923 but in 1817 was changed to 226627.
He is buried at Sequehart Cemetary no1.

Is there anywhere on the internet where we might find photos of the cemetary


 Hope someone can help either with info on Thomas Morris or his Regement

With reference to Thomas Morris the year should read 1917 not 1817

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission site will give you details about  the grave but only give a general view of the cemetery. It is always worth asking if anyone is visiting the area to get a photograph for you. I have just returned from a week visiting cemetaries on the Somme and photographing some of the Welsh Guard for a friend. They are often in out of the way places so you get to see lovely villages you would not otherwise visit.

Have you visited the museum at Brecon. Although they cannot provide photographs they will tell you about the regiment and may be able to link you to other areas to help your research. It's not a big museum but worth a visit and once they know you have someone who served with the Monmouthshire or South Wales Borderers regiments they are only to happy to help.
