Thats the right family. Ive had a look through and frank bearder (transcribed bearden)married harriet simpson at worksop priory, fathers given as henry bearder and thomas simpson. it was witnessed by william frecknall and emma simpson. willaim Frecknall is the husband of ann franks 2nd wife! They are both listed as living on newgate street. This was on the 30 jan 1865. Just out of interest both harriet and the witness emma marked with a x.
The date in 1843 is the right henry. elizabeth would have been pregnant with ther 2nd child when he died and must have married a clark though i cant confirm that.
Frank married ann frecknall in 1897 ond in worksop. Ive been told that this at the time was not legal, does anyone know if it was illegal to marry your dead wifes sister?
Harriet bearder nee simpson died 1892 ond at the age of 46.
In 1841 census i have found 2 henry bearders both dobs 1821 both born in nottinghamshire and both married to ann. One is living on middle street in newark with ann 20, john bearder 15, joseph bearder 15 sarah bearder 55
The other is listed as being in mansfield again with a anne 20, elizth mellas 65 and samuel mellas 70.
Could this be the same henry bearder listed twice?
also to add to the confusion the beardr name is often mis spelt!
Any help would be much appreciated, Bearder is my mothrs maiden name so is a significant name in our family tree
