Pearce /Rhodesia
« on: Wednesday 31 October 07 10:05 GMT (UK) »
How could I trace a Frederick  Pearce- and descendants- who emigrated in the early 1900's from Cornwall?
He was born in Morval in 1881, mother Elizabeth Pearce. He married  ? had a daughter Marie and a grand daughter Gayle. We know that Marie married Eddie White, and last were heard of in Bulawayo. A tall order but I have no idea how to go about this
any advice thankfully received

Hi there,
I can offer you two suggestions. One is to to first maybe check the Zimbabwe telephone online directory for any living descendents.
 The website is www.telone.co.zw
(I actually found descendents of my own family this way whom we didn't know still lived in Zim)
Secondly I have consulted with a private researcher in Zim, who used to be an archives employee for 26 years and he comes highly recommended.
I can give you his name and email address if you send me a message. (Or I can give the address of the National Archives in Zimbabwe so you may carry out your own research)

Good luck
Stephanie

Hi
I was also in Bulawayo and also knew of an Ian Pearce who worked on the Railways. Lost his right arm in an accident. Wife's name Cathy - moved to Capetown late 60's early 70's.
