I don't know the answer to that one. Whereabouts is Stonehall?
There was a large Franciscan Friary at Multyfarnham.

Stonehall is on the road between Multyfarnham and Crookedwood.
Ive had some research done on a murtagh family from there and am now going to get more done, and according to the researcher the landowners of stonehall between 1822 and 1860 were wilsons hospital.

Hi Wayne,

Andrew Wilson was from a place called Piersfield.

The Buildings of Ireland website mantions that during the 1798 Rebellion in Westmeath Wilson's Hospital was the scene of a battle which resulted in the deaths of between 150 and 300 rebels. http://tiny.cc/yKKOa

On 5th September 1798 the insurgents occupied Wilson's Hospital. I'm not certain what happened to the young Protestant boys and the old men. www.iol.ie/~98com/events.htm

The Church of Ireland owned the Hospital so the land probably belonged to the Church.
