Clutching at straws......there's this marriage in the Dec Qtr of 1853......

Penfield  Maria     Southampton  2c 16   
Thompson  Henry     Southampton  2c 16

That's the only result a search for Thompson/Thomson + Pen*/Pin* and Maria brought up.

I can't see an appropriate Maria Penfield in 1851.

What do we really know about Maria.....other than her parents, approximate age and her married name?
