I think it probably was William's sister Harriett Orchard (ages on census just wrong)

Harriett Orchard married Edmund Spargo - St Germans, mar qtr 1898, 5c 73

wojciechowskyj ??? my grandad came to the UK from the Ukraine in 1948 i can't get any further back then him.  :(

probaly best to do Holmans info. more easily available

Just a thought...........should we be looking for anyone on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission lists?   There are 90 Penfolds for WW1 and 51 Penfolds for WW2

Nanny jan ... John penfold b 1897 went to WW1 ...but came back and died of Pneumonia  :'(

William Penfold (who married Bessie Palmer) was in a war, but we have been told it was the Boer war ....  :-\

Don't know of any others ...but a lot of the Penfold'ds did join up ...usually looked after the Horses and such .... they were really great 'vets' ....
