This is great guys ... you are so sweet ...

Just a little snippet which may make this all worthwhile ...

My Mother has been to the graves of both Thomas and Sophia Penfold ...and Harriet Penfold nee James  d/o Thomas James and Harriet PALMER ... she feels a great affinity to her ... so finding stuff further back is wonderful ..... Strange thing here is that ... My William penfold (1872) married Bessie PALMER .... eekkkk ....

My mother was a Penfold ... no dad ... but guess what , a JAMES adopted her ...

deb

Blimey ...goosebumps!

Hi guys- so harriet james parents had to be born about 1770 ? So the henry james born 1790 kingclere i found earlier could have been a brother? His parents were Robert and Eleanor.

there is a Harriet Palmer b. Hants 1786 i keep getting drawn back to her (strange)

Harriot Palmer bapt. 09 March 1786 Southampton d/o John Palmer & Jane

she may not be connected to yours at all.

here are her siblings:~

Amelia 27 Oct 1782
Anne 29 Dec 1780

then in the same batch you have

Martha 26 Jan 1772 d/o John & martha

thisis the batch if you want to search it there are other Palmers on there I017250

Hi deb - i thought that a coincidence about the Palmer when i saw that. I had to re- check where i'd seen Palmer before.
it certainly makes you wonder .
I spoke to my director Ian Penfold and his family were gypsies and from Hampshire ! He is going to talk to his mum.
