Hi, just to let you know I have the birth certificates of most of the Attwells born in Old Windsor area for that time. The Female Attwell born in 1877 was born to Elizabeth Attwell (mother) no father given, born in Windsor Union Workhouse. I believe the child to be Elizabeth Attwell (who is mentioned in the 1881 census). She had a sister called Alice who was baptised 20 Dec 1881 in Old Windsor (born in the workhouse too), I haven't managed to locate her birth certificate yet.

I have been researching this family for the last 4 months or so, so if there's anything you want to know, let me know (or read my genealogy blog - see below)

Wondering if you had any luck with finding your gran Alice Maud's Attwell family origins???
I am having a similar problem with our gran Catherine Mary Attwell born paddington/marylebone with no mention of father on any docs I have ... which isn't many.
And would be interested if you did eventually have success with your search for Alice's birth docs?
