Looking for Charles Cockayne
« on: Monday 29 October 07 14:37 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find Charles Cockayne born 1890 Derby. All we know of him is he died in the Great War on 10 10/1918 aged 28 years :(
He was a private in the 1st Bn Essex Regiment. We know his number. He had a wife called Ethel.
I have an idea his parents were Charles and Mary Ann Cockayne nee Ward.

             Please can anyone help.

                     Kind Regards

                          naffi girl :) :)

Dear Roots Chatters

I wonder if anyone can help me. I have got the birth and marriage certificates of Charles Cochayne you found for me and on the birth it says he was born at Fowler Street does anyone know if it is still there?
Charles parents were William Cochayne a Master Butcher and Elizabeth Gaskin.
I wonder if Elizabeth is the one on the 1881 Census, What do you think?

The marriage took place in the parish of St John's but I cannot read the name of the Church any offers would be helpful ::)

Charles father William was a Coachman on the marriage Certificate.

If anyone can put me right I would be grateful

                                           Kind Regards
