Hello Fifer,
Thanks for all the information. I have been recently trying to connect the Cooks in my family tree to the Morris family of Cairneyhill in Fife.
In the 1861 census returns for Cairneyhill, Joseph and Elizabeth Cook, aged 23 and 17 respectively were enumerated as grandchildren of Alexander and Elizabeth Morris nee Cockburn. I don’t know whether they were resident or just visiting.
Joseph is shown as being born in Carnock which is close to Cairneyhill but Elizabeth was born in Dunce, (Duns) Berwickshire. This interests me because this was also the birthplace of granny, the aforementioned Elizabeth Cockburn.
Of the three known daughters of the grandparents, Elizabeth, Margaret and Alison, I don’t know which one married into the Cook line.
Are you able to provide this detail please?
Thanks in anticipation
M
ps: The eleven known children of Alexander and Elizabeth Morris were all born in Cairneyhill which is a parish of Carnock
Fife, Dundee

I have Adam Cook 1721 ancestors back another 4 generations. this family has been featured on RC a  lot and the details I think will be available using the Search facility.
However if needed please contact me by PM.

I am descended through Adam cooks brother Henry 1732.
