Firrell in England
« on: Monday 27 December 04 16:35 GMT (UK) »
If it is of any use to anyone as a result of researching my tree I have all the entries for FIRRELL from the Birth, Marriage and Death indices from the Family Records Centre and the Wills index post 1858 from the Pricipal Registry in Holborn and will pass on anything that will be of use to anyone researching the name.

Kev
Researching: FIRRELL (Sussex & London); GRIFFIN (Devon); CHOWN (Sidbury, Devon); CANNING (Co.Donegal/Co.Londonderry); GOODWIN (Staffs & Cheshire)

Gosh  :o :o sounds like you have been busy ! It is so very good of you to share your research.

Does the information relate to Holborn only ?

Hi Sarah,

No it is for the whole of England.  Because Firrell is an unusual surname and to try and getas much of my mothers side of the tree as posible I spent a fair bit of time at the family records office transcribing all the firrells from the BMD indices into a searchable spreadsheet.

To help work further on them & to help piece family members together I also went to the Principal Registry in Holborn where all the calanders of Wills are held and again transcribed out all the entries relating to the Firrells in england.  They are only the entries in the calendars and are not the complete wills but have the reference numbers so that others can order a will if they require.
