My Essex Surnames ;)

Hiya all,

I have recently come back from detachment and got straight back into my FT!    So i'd thought I would stick up my list of surnames and see if anything or anyone comes forward! 

All are in SE Essex mainly Tendring, St Osyth, Brightlingsea and Clacton...

BUTCHER   (my main interest as its my surname  )

I have put them into alphabetical order so makes for quicker, easier searching.

I have Cardy and  Carter  surnames in Stanway, Essex, also Wyatt in Hatfield Peverel is  this where yours are,

Hiya Carol,

First of all thanks for gettin in touch.

My Cardy family came from West Bergholt and Wormingford. I checked out the maps and they are not far from Stanway.
I have James Cardy b1815, had 2 sons, one of which was Arthur b1855 who had 8 children with Emma Fairweather in Wormingford.

Regarding my Wyatt family, I am a little unsure as to the actual correct name. My relation, Helen Hephzibah Wyatt supposedly changed her name from Wyard to Wyatt but i cant be sure on that. So if you have a Helen Heph in your tree that would be great.

If any info has any matches in your ancestry, then I would very much like to hear from you.

My Cardy family came from West Bergholt , Pamela Jean Cardy daughter of Percy Edward Cardy and Kate Watson married Ronald Frank Tracey, he was my 3rd cousin. I have not gone very far back on this line so far.

I do not know very much about the Wyatt family, William Wyatt  son of William Wyatt born circa 1883, I have been unable to find him in the 1891 0r 1901 census so far, he married Annie Crane in  1915 at Hatfield Peverel.

Any of this sound familiar to you?

Hi Andy,

My Fairweathers start with Emma b1852 in Gt Clacton. She was daughter to Samual Fairweather and Maria Grimwood. They had 5 children in total of which was Emma, Martha, Thomas, Martha, John and William.
