« on: Wednesday 24 October 07 18:51 BST (UK) »
Can anyone see Henry (c1828) and Christiana Baker (1835) and their family living in or around Dudley in the 1871 and 1861 census. In 1881 they lived in Tipton.

Thanks for looking. It is strange that Christiana must have had James when she was 16. ??? or 15 in the '61 census. She had 4 more children before the '81 census. Can you see Henry in the '51 census and is he living with Christiana?

1851 seems strange
1851. HO107/2031/14/20.
henry baker age 22. b. worcestershire. occ. pudler. head.
susannah baker age 27. b. worcestershire. wife.
mary baker age 2. b. tipton. daughter.
henry.j.baker age 1mnth. b. tipton. son.
living at dimmocks lane,sedgley,staffs.
reg.dist. dudley.
was henry twice married
is henry.j.baker in this census the james baker in 1861,1871.
this would mean that he is the stepson of christiana.
could be an explanation.
will look for a death of susannah between 1851- 1856
cattell,alcester
vickers,sulgrave
hewish,holborn
manley,bethnal green
barnes,bassingbourn

It could make sense. The gap in ages from James to Ann was 6 years and considering just how frequently Christiana had children something must have happened in those 6 years. Also Christiana was a tad young when James was born. What happened to Mary I wonder? I cannot find the marriage for Henry and Christiana which you would imagine should be fairly easy.

Henry possibly married Susanna Williams in Bridgenorth 1844.
Can you see henry in'41?
