www.thecore.com/seanruad
will give details of townlands & parishes.
this site gives a bit of information:
www.ireland.com/ancestor/index.htm
Just Google 'ballymacward' and lots of sites come up.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for
some time
many years!

Hello colin+maureen,
What are the names of your Ballymacward ancestors?
Have you confirmation that they are from Co. Galway.

Hi Christopher,
thanks for replying
the person i am looking for is Richard Michael /Michael Richard Cummins/Commons/Cummings
born approx 1857 married in warrington 1886 to Margaret Mcmanus
Unfortunately we have been unable to confirm the area of ireland he was born in but was led to Ballymacward when looking through the national archives and found a record for a soldier of that name serving in the 31st foot regiment.
As Michael had a son Michael who died in Anzio in 1944 we thought it may be connected if very tenuously
We know it is a long shot but thought it was worth a go.
thanks
Maureen
