Smith and Steel Brook marriage
« on: Monday 22 October 07 18:39 BST (UK) »
Howdy All, Here is info. Sep qtr 1858 Huddersfield Vol 9a page 324.  Thomas Smith and Ellen Steel Brook(e). I tried to order this but things got very mixed up and I am in canada.  I am hoping to find out who Thomas Smith's parents were.  He may have been illegitimate but according to an old family tree he had a younger brother, John who immigrated to US.   His children said he was born in Hebden b ridge but he was born in Keighley!  Another mystery.       Miserable weather, how are you guys.      Thorny  I just got something about copywright.  All I want is info. re Thomas' parents so I hope this is OK.s

Hi Thorny,

You will only find the father named on English marriage certificates........and people weren't always honest!

What was the problem re ordering the certificate?

Hi Nanny Jan,  I ordered with a Visa Card but got a message that due to a clerical error they couldn't process.  I am now waiting for another Visa card (with a lower Limit) on the advice of a genealogy buff and then I will try again.  I guess I need to feel that I'm making some progress.          Regards, Thorny
