I'm not sure how Lydia Steward fits in; as far as I know, Mary Ann Steward's parents were John Steward and Mary Ann (?).

I don't have much more in the Markham line, as my connection is through Alice Mary Markham who married Alonzo Elliott (my connection being with Alonzo rather than Alice).

Mye Goodye Cosynes:

Alice Mary Markham, [Eyke], m. Alonzo Elliott, [Sproughton], and she was dg of Samuel Markham, Ag Lab [Rendlesham Suffolk] b:Abt. 26-05-1818 + Mary Ann Steward who m:1831(???) [Bramford, Suffolk, England] ?. I take it that the m. date should be m:1847 ?. Do you have the primary source for this marriage ?. 1847 sounds right.
===
1861 Eyke Census:
Samuel Markham Head Mar 42 Ag Lab Rendlesham, Suffolk
Mary Ann Wife Mar 32 Bramford, Suffolk
John V Son 13 Ag Lab Eyke
Alice Dau 1 Eyke
Lydia Stewerd Nurse Mar 60 Nurse Bramford, Suffolk
[Lydia Stewerd is probably an AUNT ?]
===
Alice Markham is clearly and only 1yr old in 1861. Her father would be about 38 yrs old or so. A huge gap in years to her brother John V. Markham. Must be more offspring about.

[Mary Ann Steward's parents were John Steward and Mary Ann (?)]: I would think this would be correct !!!.

Bramford Suffolk is of interest to me since the Collins - Whitmore - Acton familes there come into the Deacon Daniel Markham lines of New England + Earls Colne.

One line of Markhams were BAKERS + INNKEEPERS. I think there is one Philip Markham who lived sometime before 1900, who continued this line of Markham. The one factor of good cause will be the actual addresses given in Ipswich I think it was and back to Bramford was it. I need to look this up again.

My own Markham interst is to record every single Markham family that ever lived....

I had the date of the marriage of Samuel Markham and Mary Ann Steward as 11 November 1847, but I'm not sure where I got that info - I don't seem to have kept a note. But there is a  marriage of a John Steward and Mary Ann Markham in the Plomesgate district (which includes Eyke) in the September quarter of 1858, which may be a more likely date.

Edit: I checked back my notes - it seems Samuel was married twice, the 1847 date refers to the marriage to his first wife, Maria Ling.

The children I have for Samuel and Maria are:
John J. Markham (1848) and Emma (chr. 1853). John m. Emily Ashman in Ipswich in 1873; their children were Charles A. b. 1873 Ipswich
Emma b. 1875 Ipswich
Maud b. 1878 Ipswich
Emily b. 1880

Maria died in 1855, Samuel then married Mary Ann (1858) and had children Alice (1859) and Bertha (1862). Hope this helps.

Have you discovered all the Framlingham Markham folk?

No interest myself, but there was a connection to a branch of the Bridges family and about 25 years ago I was researching the Markham connections for another researcher.

Pat ...
Every time I find an ancestor,
I have to find two more!

SUFFOLK - Pendle, Stygall, Pipe, Fruer, Bridges, Fisk, Bellamy, Sparham - all link to  Framlingham
DERBY - Bridges and Frost (originally Framlingham/Parham)
NOTTINGHAM - Lambert & Selby
BERKSHIRE/then Hammersmith LDN - Fulker
LDN/MDX - Murray, Clancy, Broker, Hoskins, Marsden, Wilson, Sale

GGfather Michael Wilson born Cork, lived Fulham London - moved to Boston USA 1889, what happened next?
