i dont know if this is any connection & will be asking for help myself

my grandfather was william george taylor born 1904 died 1985 in ponty pool monmouthshire

this is where it gets confussing

the family was always told he ran away from london as he didnt want to join the war

he ran away to pontypool in monmouthsire ( now gwent ) & met my grandmother lilian maud berryman but for somereason they got married in hackney in london 1928

the address they were staying is victoria park road

witnesses were james lord ...maurice coburn & phobe francis harring ton

so with the information i had from the marriage certificate i wwent to oder my grandfather birth cert & the gro couldnt find it

death cert says he was born southampton & they couldnt find it

father names for my grandfather william george taylor is william george taylor

Just for the record William George Taylor fought in both World Wars.  He was technically too young for the 1st World War and he volunteered for the 2nd whilst in his 40's.
