Anyone from Balsall Heath?
« on: Saturday 20 October 07 18:17 BST (UK) »
Wondered if someone could check if a building is still there for me? I have the 1871 census and my G-G-Grandfather is listed as living in Wellington Place, on Balshall Heath Road. There is no number given, but the entry before is for the Police Station and the entry after is for The Wellington Inn so I guess the house was in between. A photo would be fantastic if it is still there! :)

Okay hmm now I'm not sure this is in Worcs? It might be in Warwickshire - I think it's very close the Edgbaston Cricket Ground.

You are right Spongebob - it is in Warwickshire, and very near to Edgbaston.
Best wishes, Judy :-))

I remember walking up that road when I used to help out at the college.

There were, then, a number of new houses in the area, so I'm guesing that some older ones had disappeared.

To find Balsall Heath Road, search on www.streetmap.co.uk
