Still no further forward with this, he may possibly have died in 1962, death registered in Leeds.  Relatives (his parents and sisters) lived at Hillside Road, Ackworth.

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you Brian, this is possibly him but there is no mention of a middle name and this isnt on the certificate either thats why I need a relative of his to confirm that it is him if indeed they know themselves. There are some things I dont want to post as if this death is him then I dont want to upset anyone.

Have you traced what happened to the sister? When she died did Percy register the death? Did she leave a Will mentioning Percy as a beneficiary at all?

Yes lizdb, see stayed in Ackworth and died in '71 registered by her daughter.  Their mother also died in the same house in 1945, my thoughts are Sydney left when his mother died.

This is quite a complicated story but the bones are he left Shropshire around 1943 and we know for definite he went to live with a sister in Ackworth, his mother died in 1945 and as far as we know there was no further contact with relatives in Shropshire after that.

He had 22 brothers and sisters and all but 3 brothers moved up to Ackworth and the surrounding areas so Im hoping that any of their descendants may know what happened to him.

Peek? Strange as I know of a Harry Leek.  This particular Sydney married a Beatrice Leek (nee Dickinson) so it looks like this Sydney is buried in the same plot as her first husband?
